A few details is all we need to get back to you.
Plastering
Plastering is one of those jobs where the difference between good and bad only shows up once the paint goes on. Poor preparation, the wrong background treatment or rushed trowelling all come back as cracks, hollow patches and shadows under the light.
We take the time on the parts nobody sees: checking what is behind the surface, treating the background properly, boarding where boarding is the right answer, and getting the angles and reveals straight. The result is a wall or ceiling that looks right in daylight and stays that way.
Most of our plastering work is in and around Medway — Chatham, Rochester, Gillingham, Rainham and Strood — and we cover the rest of Kent as well.
What we cover
If it involves plaster, boards or a finish coat, it is likely to be on this list.
Suitable projects
Walls and ceilings that have been papered, patched and painted too many times and need bringing back to a flat finish.
A newly bought property being brought up to standard before anyone moves in, room by room or all at once.
Boarding, taping and skimming new work so it matches the rest of the property.
Repairs between tenancies, damage made good and full refurbishments to a programme.
Dated textured ceilings covered and finished flat where the ceiling is suitable.
Offices, shops and units needing boarding and finishing to a deadline.
Why customers choose us
Recent work
Freshly skimmed work in Medway and Kent, photographed on completion. New plaster dries from this pink shade to a pale finish before it is decorated.
Questions
It depends on the size of the room and its condition, but a straightforward single room is often boarded and skimmed within a day or two. We will give you a realistic timescale with your written quotation rather than a guess over the phone.
New plaster needs to dry out fully before it is painted. Drying time varies with the thickness of the plaster, the time of year, the heating and the ventilation in the room, so we will tell you what to expect on your particular job.
In many cases an artexed ceiling can be covered and finished flat, and in others it is better to overboard it first. We will look at the ceiling and tell you which approach suits it. Please note that artex in older properties can contain asbestos, and where that is a possibility it needs to be tested and handled by the appropriate specialists before any work starts.
Yes. We do patch repairs and single ceilings as well as whole-house re-skims. Smaller jobs are usually grouped together, so there may be a short wait for a suitable slot.
Regularly. We work with landlords, letting agents and property managers on tenant changeovers, damage repairs and full refurbishments, and we can work to a programme around void periods.
We are based in Medway and cover the whole of Kent, including Chatham, Rochester, Gillingham, Rainham, Strood, Maidstone, Gravesend, Sittingbourne, Dartford and Canterbury. If you are unsure, call and ask.
